Nose Job

15 year-old Iranian-American, Roya, hasn't grown into her features. Awkward and graceless, she spends her time fantasizing about becoming a famous model, giving mock interviews to herself. Roya wants nothing more than for her mother to tell her she's beautiful. Unfortunately, her mother has some very strict requirements.

Directed by Desiree Akhavan, Nose Job leans on a strong ensemble — Nikki Amirsaleh, David Diaan — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2011.
