About Şoför Deyip Geçmeyin
Gül and Selim love each other. However, Gül's father does not approve of their relationship. He devises a plan to separate them. He talks to Selim's boss and sends him on a business trip abroad. He sends Gül to her aunt's house. The two lovers lose hope when they cannot contact each other. Meanwhile, Gül finds out that she is pregnant. She runs away from home and gives birth at a friend's house. Believing that Selim has abandoned her, she leaves the child in a taxi she takes. The taxi driver takes custody of the child and raises him. Years later, Gül will learn the truth and regret what she did.
Directed by Ülkü Erakalın, Şoför Deyip Geçmeyin leans on a strong ensemble — Ajda Pekkan, Sadri Alışık, Esen Püsküllü — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1966.
