About Der See der Träume
Her daughter has just gone abroad for a school year when Anna's husband Rolf tells her that he wants a divorce. Anna, surprised and desperate, seeks refuge with her father Hannes. In her idyllic hometown, she meets her childhood sweetheart Nick again, whose wife took the life half a year ago. Nick's little daughter is so traumatized by this experience that she has not spoken out since. Anna cares lovingly for the child, and Anna and Nick come closer. But Rolf has since regretted his decision.
Directed by Wolf Gremm, Der See der Träume leans on a strong ensemble — Ursula Buschhorn, Michael von Au, Charles Brauer — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about tv movie titles of 2006.
