About Bu Şehrin Belalısı
Yusuf has come to Istanbul to find his father, whom he has never seen before. At a tavern, he gets into a fight with Balyoz Seyfullah's men, who have taken control of the area. Due to a misunderstanding, he is mistaken for the notorious thug Burun Kıran Yusuf. Despite his efforts to explain that he is not the real Burun Kıran Yusuf, he cannot make himself understood. He becomes the people's hope against Balyoz Seyfullah and his men. Meanwhile, the arrival of the real Burun Kıran Yusuf in Istanbul will further complicate matters.
Directed by Ertem Göreç, Bu Şehrin Belalısı leans on a strong ensemble — Tanju Gürsu, Neriman Köksal, Erol Taş — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1966.
