Several murders are committed in Istanbul within a week. Some of the victims are individuals who were under surveillance by the National Security Agency. These individuals, who are members of the Mirak Organization, an international anarchist gang, take many clues with them. The Security Agency discovers that the gang is working on a secret project. All they have left is information about a single suspect. They must figure out what the operation involves. Kemal, one of the National Security Agency's most important police officers, will attempt to solve this complex equation.
Directed by İlhan Engin, İstanbul Dehşet İçinde leans on a strong ensemble — Ayhan Işık, Figen Say, Reha Yurdakul — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about crime titles of 1966.
