It’s the year 2075. Jung-won, a pathologist, has a recurring nightmare about her sister’s death. In order to cease the nightmares, she visits the sea of tranquility, called Moon. There she undergoes a strange experience that causes the death of her sister.
Directed by Choi Hang-yong, The Sea of Tranquility leans on a strong ensemble — Choi Hee-jin, Heo Jeong-do, Lee Gwang-jin — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about science fiction titles of 2014.
