
Vijay and Pooja are in love. However, Pooja hails from a wealthy family and her father is Chief Minister of the state, while Vijay's background is lower middle-class. Humiliated by Pooja's father, Vijay marries advocate Kiran, and together have a daughter. Kiran represents a number of defendants charged by the police, and is always on hand to secure their release. This causes acrimony. When an unmarried Pooja re-enters Vijay's life, and this time she intends to stay close to this family.
Directed by T. L. V. Prasad, Jurmana leans on a strong ensemble — Mithun Chakraborty, Ashwini Bhave, Rambha — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1996.
