About Tre piger fra Jylland
Three girls (around 20 years old) who have grown up in different parts of Denmark get a strange letter. It turns out they are sisters, and will inherit from their late mother, if the can stay together one month in the same house. They end up in a lot of (romantic) trouble, because of speculations of who their father(s) might be.
Directed by Annelise Reenberg, Tre piger fra Jylland leans on a strong ensemble — Birgit Sadolin, Ulla Lock, Annemette Svendsen — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1957.
