The problem is that children and adults have forgotten the story of the Little Ugly Princess, which is as wonderful as other major fables for children. Cinderella brings together other fairy tale characters to meet the writer who keeps, lost in a small notebook, the Little Ugly Princess story.
Directed by Tizuka Yamasaki, Xuxa and the Mystery of the Little Ugly Princess leans on a strong ensemble — Xuxa, Sasha Meneghel, Luciano Szafir — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about family titles of 2009.
