










Sashidharan, the graduate son of the landlord Panikker falls in love with Vilasini, the daughter of a poor widow Kalyani Amma . A crooked local newspaper editor and the lecherous city wastrel Rajasekharan form a tricky plot turning Panikker against his sons wish to marry Vilasini.
Directed by T Janaki Ram, Sasidharan leans on a strong ensemble — P K Vikraman Nair, K K Padmanabhankutty Asan, Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1950.
