Pixie Panic

By chance, Pyrus has found Gyldengrød's old laboratory, which has been locked up for many years. When the National Archivist's son-in-law Krusø catches a severe winter cold, Pyrus is eager to help and tries to cure Krusø with an elixir from Gyldengrød's laboratory. The effect is disastrous. Krusø shrinks to the size of an elf and tumbles around confused in the archive. Krusø comes into possession of the elves' magic book, which enables him to conjure himself into various books. And misfortune befalls the country's prime minister as Krusø tours the telephone directories, the overview of traffic planning in Copenhagen, and worst of all, the finance bill itself. Pyrus is unhappy. For once, he tried to do the right thing, and now everyone is even more angry with him than before. How can he make amends? He must accomplish something truly great.

Directed by Martin Miehe-Renard, Pixie Panic leans on a strong ensemble — Jan Linnebjerg, Jesper Klein, Paul Hüttel — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about adventure titles of 2000.
