About En Baldiri de la costa
Baldiri, a farmer on the Catalan coast, is reluctant to sell his garden, where they want to build a tourist hotel. Through a stratagem, they convince him and sell the land. Loaded with money and after a series of experiences, he realizes that that life is not what he wants, he abandons everything and goes to live in the mountains.
Directed by Josep Maria Font i Espina, En Baldiri de la costa leans on a strong ensemble — Joan Capri, Alicia Tomás, Pilar Velázquez — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1968.
