About The Greatest Kid in the World
Fathi is a university doctor in Beirut University, and his wife, Samia, is a TV presenter who is surprised by the arrival of Matilda, the daughter of his Swedish friend, to live with them. Samia is jealous of Matilda's beauty, as Matilda begins to flirt with Fathi and he tries to resist her temptation.
Directed by Galal El Sharkawy, The Greatest Kid in the World leans on a strong ensemble — Rushdy Abaza, Hind Rostom, Mervat Amin — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1972.
