About Rayya and Sakina
In the 1920s, Azouz is a failed actor and his fiancée Folla works as a maid in the house of the chief of police in Alexandria, who's responsible for arresting serial killers Raya and Sakina. When all plans to arrest them by officer Fathi fail, Azzouz and Folla disguise themselves as Raya and Sakina.
Directed by Ahmad Fouad, Rayya and Sakina leans on a strong ensemble — Younes Shalaby, Sherihan, Hassan Abdeen — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1983.
