One month earlier, Shang Zhen (Lynn Hung) arrives in Seoul, South Korea, where she coincidentally meets Jian Yu (William Li), who had his marriage proposal rejected. Shang Zhen, who is still heartbroken, had a sudden idea: to use Jian Yu to sabotage her ex-boyfriend's wedding. Thus, Jian Yu follows Shang Zhen back to China, where she reveals her "wild" side. Shang Zhen's cousin, Yong Zhen (Feng Yuanzhen), is also much of a headache for men. Working as a Taekwondo coach, Yong Zhen has a student named Zhi Kai (He Jiong) who lacks masculinity. Zhi Kai admires Yong Zhen greatly but often suffers under her fists and feet. Jian Yu accompanies Shang Zhen in preparing for the wedding sabotage, but during a rehearsal, they offended a stranger. Meanwhile, the wedding date is fast approaching. The film is an unofficial sequel of the 2001 South Korean film "My Sassy Girl".
Directed by Joe Ma Wai-Ho, My Sassy Girl 2 leans on a strong ensemble — Lynn Hung Doi-Lam, Leon Jay Williams, Abby Fung — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 2010.
