About Guys from the Army Band
Bolshevik Tsolak Darbinyan is infiltrated into Dashnak Army as a musician of Army music band. Despite the initial personal conflict with band leader Arsen, he is able to win the friendship of young band musicians including Arsen and to persuade them to back him on the eve of the Bolshevik invasion to Armenia.
Directed by Henrik Margaryan, Henrik Malyan, Guys from the Army Band leans on a strong ensemble — Mher Mkrtchyan, Armen Khostikyan, Ruben Mkrtchyan — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1960.
