Famille nombreuse

Follenfant, father of a large family, completed late military service. He looks a lot like the commander who is shy and thanks to this resemblance, Follenfant who is also a ventriloquist, makes his superior and his own happy by marrying the widowed seamstress and mother, too, of a large family.

Directed by André Hugon, Famille nombreuse leans on a strong ensemble — Jeanne Boitel, Janine Borelli, Georges Milton — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1934.
