About Ciel bleu
Nicholas is a conscience-stricken international news photographer. Revolted by what he has seen in wars in Africa and Indochina, he leaves his job and his girlfriend to do sports coverage. While covering a rugby match between the French and Irish teams in Ireland, he runs into an ex-American girlfriend, and their affair begins again. As she is very down-to-earth, she helps him begin to sort things out.
Directed by Serge Leroy, Ciel bleu leans on a strong ensemble — Frédéric de Pasquale, Alexandra Stewart — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1971.
