Romulo is the caretaker of a mansion that belongs to Dr. Maia. As the owner is always traveling, Romulo decides to rent the house to strangers and earn extra money. One day a young man appears looking for a job, and is hired to work as a butler. Janete, the maid, starts to like Marcos, but he is always busy taking care of and participating in the parties that are given by the guests, people who rent the mansion to organize orgies. After lots of parties and lots of sex, Marcos reveals that he is the son of the owner of the mansion who came to investigate the situation.
Directed by Ary Fernandes, O Cassino das Bacanais leans on a strong ensemble — Ruy Leal, Felipe Levy, Jussara Calmon — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about crime titles of 1981.
