About Kinnara Thumbikal
Razni is a rich boy who lives with his aunty. The superintendent sleeps with shakeela by promising her that he will marry her, but seeing Hema, the superintendent asks shakeela to arrange a marriage between him and Hema, on which Shakeela gets angry at the superintendent and vows to sabotage his attempts to marry Hema as a revenge. Hema is the cousin of Razni and they fall in love and plan to marry. Meanwhile, Shakeela who lives nearby becomes fond of Razni and seduces him.
Directed by R J Prasad, Kinnara Thumbikal leans on a strong ensemble — Shakeela, Salim Kumar, Hema — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2000.
