About ¿Y a mí quién me cuida?
Ana is an elderly woman who has recently been widowed. Like many people of her age and education, she will have to find a reason to give meaning to her life. When her son Antonio asks her to look after his grandson Ezequiel, Ana sees that the boy has suffered the mistakes of an authoritarian upbringing and decides to help him fulfill his dream of becoming a choreographer. With her grandson, Ana embarks on a dreamlike journey that leads her to discover other women in her neighborhood who, like her, are trying to live a new life.
Directed by Ángeles González-Sinde, ¿Y a mí quién me cuida? leans on a strong ensemble — Julieta Serrano, Adriana Ozores, Antonio de la Torre — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2007.
