Vallejo wanted to make the film in Colombia, however he found numerous obstacles to film it in the country so he decided to do it in Mexico with Mexican actors and recreating the Colombian landscapes in that country.
Directed by Fernando Vallejo, In the Storm leans on a strong ensemble — Carlos Riquelme, Carmen Montejo, Roberto Cañedo — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1982.
