The Black Box

Renowned streamer Liu Ching-yi wakes up from darkness, only to find herself trapped in an abandoned house that feels like a prison. In a desperate bid for survival, she must seek help from the interview director, Liao Tien-ling, who has always been her rival. Together, they embark on a thrilling escape room challenge known as the "Black Box." They must correctly answer all ten questions to unlock the iron door; however, a single wrong answer will seal Liu Ching-yi's fate, leaving her forever in the shadows.

Directed by Chiou Hau-jou, The Black Box leans on a strong ensemble — Joe Chang, Jacqueline Zhu, Ho Pei-pei — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2016.
