The Magic Legs

When Jia-Tai and his father discover that a Buddhist temple is a trap for kidnapping women and selling them into slavery, they are attacked by the gang led by Black Shark. Strong as they are, they are no match for his kung fu and Jia-Tai`s father is killed. His last message to his son is the find those who can teach him the magic legs kung fu, the only style strong enough to beat Black Shark.

Directed by Li Wenhua, The Magic Legs leans on a strong ensemble — Wang Qun, Wang Chi, Zhong Xiao-Zhen — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1988.
