Babaların Günahı

The film tells the story of Müfit, a bank manager who lives a happy life with his family, and how his life changes after he meets Kamelya. Müfit is a man who goes to work and comes home every day in a routine manner. One day, he meets Kamelya at a ball. This encounter is the first step that leads Müfit into the gang's web. As Müfit gets to know Kamelya and her brother Memduh, he drifts away from his family. A trap set by Kamelya causes Müfit to drift away from his wife Emine, leading to the complete breakdown of his marriage. Misunderstanding Emine, Müfit leaves home. He leaves the country and starts working as a waiter in nightclubs. Years later, he discovers that Kamelya and Memduh have set the same trap for someone else. The identity of this person will prompt Müfit to take action.

Directed by Mehmet Aslan, Babaların Günahı leans on a strong ensemble — Ekrem Bora, Semra Sar, Suna Keskin — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1973.
