About Double Desire
Cora, a schizophrenic housewife with extravagant fantasies and dissatisfied with her husband's sexual performance. She also suffers from frigidity. However, this is not her only ailment, another is a split personality. Her loving husband sends her to a sex clinic. The doctor, however, instead of providing a system to improve the amatory abilities of her husband, decides to personally provide for the bride's satisfaction. Soon she is a predatory lioness that releases the most repressed sexual impulses.
Directed by Andrea Bianchi, Double Desire leans on a strong ensemble — Karin Schubert, Bruno Romagnoli, Giancarlo Busmani — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1985.
