About Farrash-bashi
A gypsy woman named Setareh, after being rejected from home, leaves her young son Ali next to a house and runs away. Farrash-bashi (School Janitor) finds Ali and takes him to his workplace, which is a busy elementary school, and takes care of him with the help of school children.
Directed by Iraj Sadeghpour, Farrash-bashi leans on a strong ensemble — Nematollah Aghasi, Jamileh, Rafi Halati — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1975.
