About Kawarasaki Family
Rokuro Saito was hired as a gardener for the Kawarazaki family. The beautiful mistress of the house, Kyoko, who greeted Rokuro, was a widow with two daughters, Sachiko and Rei. Also living there were Rei's tutor, Kaori, a creepy male servant named Nanbara, and the maid, Misako. Rokuro was eager to take on the job, but Misako was cold and distant.
Directed by Toshiki Satō, Kawarasaki Family leans on a strong ensemble — Hiroshi Matsunaga, Tomoko Inoue, Kazuhiro Sano — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about horror titles of 1996.
