About Diary of a Nudist
Arthur Sherwood is on a hunting trip when he stumbles upon a nudist camp. Horrified, the prudish newspaper editor sends female reporter Stacy to write an exposé. However, much to her surprise, Stacy loves the free-spirited lifestyle and writes positively of her experience. The dissatisfied Arthur joins the camp himself to write his own story.
Directed by Doris Wishman, Diary of a Nudist leans on a strong ensemble — Davee Decker, Norman Casserly, Dolores Carlos — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1961.
