"Everyone here wants a new bum, new tits. What do you hate so much about yourself? Or maybe your husband?" A 66-year-old woman, Dorottya, or Mimi, receives a gift from her husband, a plastic surgery coupon, to try to look younger. The film is a romantic comedy about the decisions of an ageing woman, her unexpected encounter with a man, the possibility of a fresh start, while social prejudices about the elderly are shattered.
Directed by Cristina Groşan, Átalakítás Folyamatban leans on a strong ensemble — Katalin Takács, János Bán, Nóra Rainer-Micsinyei — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2018.
