Passing over the Hill

After the premature death of her son, Jung-sook learns to read and write by transcribing her late son's anthology, Passing Over the Hill. In search of her son's remnants, Jung-sook visits his university in Seoul and encounters the people who remember him. She wants to find her son's hill.

Directed by Bang Sung-jun, Passing over the Hill leans on a strong ensemble — Byun Joong-hee, Moon Hye-in, Bang Tae-won — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2018.
