About Bergola Ijo
A continuation of the Jaka Sembung series. The event takes place in the Gegesik village near Cirebon, in 1827. The village head, Subah, faces two enemies - the Dutch and Ki Dungu. The Dutch use Ki Dungu to destroy the village, as he has an old grudge against the people plus he possesses the powerful skill of Bergola Ijo. But Ningsih, the wife of Fajar, both of whom are Subah's children and disciple respectively, face Ki Dungu with their own martial arts.
Directed by Arizal, Bergola Ijo leans on a strong ensemble — Barry Prima, Eva Arnaz, Darussalam — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1983.
