A novelist past her prime, Fang Yuan-Yi accidentally discovers a manuscript at her publisher’s office. She recognizes not just her own signature style in the writing but also its superior talent. Alarmed by this, she steals the work and is determined to find out the copycat intending to replace her. She arrives at an apartment and is greeted by Wang Jen-Yu, a young polio survivor in wheelchair.

Directed by Gavin Lin, Erotica leans on a strong ensemble — Huang Tsai-yi, Wang Ko-yuan, Liu Yue-Ti — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2018.
