At the ninth grader, Anvar, it would seem, everything is safe both in the family and at school. But the boy did not find a common language with his father, and an unclean person took advantage of this. Anwar, involved in extortion, could not reconcile his conscience with a dirty deed. Only the tragic death of the boy revealed the criminal.
Directed by Giyas Shermukhamedov, The Age of Anxiety leans on a strong ensemble — Mavluda Singatullina, Hadzhiakbar Kamilov, Alexander Kuzin — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1972.
