About Nervosa
Jade (19) lives with her two friends Rex and Bo in a secluded mobile home, surrounded by a dense conifer hedge. Under Rex’ direction, Jade follows a strict regime, but at night Bo tempts her to break out of it. Meanwhile an unknown woman makes frantic attempts to get through to Jade. Which only adds to her confusion.
Directed by Thessa Meijer, Nervosa leans on a strong ensemble — Nora el Koussour, Merel Pauw, Sarah Janneh — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2019.
