Bored without friends, seven-year-old Olezhka wrote a letter to the newspaper asking them to send him tin soldiers. And then seven real soldiers appeared in the village. However, they were called quite fabulously: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Directed by Eduard Bocharov, Seven Tin Soldiers leans on a strong ensemble — Alexey Kuzmichev, Vera Panasenkova, Vitali Usanov — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about family titles of 1983.
