The House

Waiting for their first baby, a young couple Junui and Biru decides to move to the villa in their hometown where they’ve spent a summer vacation with their childhood friends. Junui soon is haunted by painful memories of his first lover Jihui who’s been missing in the villa. Meanwhile, Biru finds the suspicious trace of strangers in their house and is obsessed that someone is watching them in the house.

Directed by Park Gyun-ee, The House leans on a strong ensemble — Oh Chang-seok, Seo Woo, Kim Sa-hee — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about mystery titles of 2019.
