The director of the Vaudeville Theater is looking for new performers after the former star was forced to give up her singing career. Out of numerous auditionees, singer P. Waltteri Vitikka is hired. At the same time, the janitor tries to maintain order in the theater.
Directed by Ville Salminen, Mitäs me taiteilijat leans on a strong ensemble — Uuno Laakso, Sakari Halonen, Siiri Angerkoski — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1952.
