Engineer Kallio, who is searching for uranium, arrives at the summer hotel owned by Director Lehtelä, accompanied by his assistants Joltinen and Pummi and painter Väinö. The manager's daughter Anni, his wife Mammi, and hotel employee Sirkka try to figure out the guests' secret identities.
Directed by Ville Salminen, Yks' tavallinen Virtanen leans on a strong ensemble — Leni Katajakoski, Martti Katajisto, Pirkko Mannola — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1959.
