About Eduard Suroviy. The tears of Brighton
Songwriter Eduard Surovy was famous in the 1970s, when the Comedy Club comedian Garik Kharlamov, who named his odious humorous character in his honor, was not yet in the project. With the personal approval of Leonid Brezhnev, Eduard was allowed to represent the USSR, closed by the iron curtain, at the famous European music competition.
Directed by Roman Novikov, Eduard Suroviy. The tears of Brighton leans on a strong ensemble — Garik Kharlamov, Kristina Asmus, Aleksandr Katin — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2019.
