Shabaq (This Woman’s Pleasure)

Batroun, in northern Lebanon. A couple tries to take advantage of an afternoon at the beach. She is attracted to three handsome, virile hoodlums who disturb the tranquility of the otherwise perfect day. Their brutality angers the owner of a beach hut, who threatens them. Violence erupts everywhere. The woman's reaches another extreme.

Directed by Zalfa Seurat, Shabaq (This Woman’s Pleasure) leans on a strong ensemble — Camille Brunel, Ziad Chakarounsky — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2019.
