About Pobres habrá siempre
"Pobres habrá siempre" is a rarity within Argentine cinema for many reasons. Its theme is the rebellion of a group of meatpacking workers around 1935 and the several reasons that justified it, but the film was shot at a time when workers and union struggles were very strange issues for local production.
Directed by Carlos F. Borcosque, Pobres habrá siempre leans on a strong ensemble — Daira Ceriani, Domingo Alzugaray, Nieves Ibar — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1958.
