Boogie With You

A young man ends up in the living room of a middle-aged woman whom he has met at a bar after closing. The very drunk woman gives an incoherent speech on feminism, Norwegian oil and global solidarity. She does not offend the Norwegian-ethnic man when she points out their common destiny as the oppressed where she is a woman and he is black.

Directed by Jannicke Låker, Boogie With You leans on a strong ensemble — Marika Enstad, Joe Tödtling — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2014.
