Gaston and Leo are active in Antwerp's motorbike brigade. But the two are demoted to simple neighbourhood cops. When they track down a dangerous woman kidnapper and his accomplice, the pair soon find themselves back in favour. Before they can complete their sleuthing, they must escape the attentions of their wives.
Directed by Patrick Le Bon, Paniekzaaiers leans on a strong ensemble — Gaston Berghmans, Leo Martin, Chris Cauwenberghs — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1986.
