Roadside

After serving in the army, Lyonka Parasochka got a driver in the fleet, deciding to continue his father's tradition. His mentor was Pyotr Demyanovich Volovich, who knew how to make money by "left trips" and various "operations". Lyonka saw that Volovich lived widely, beyond his means, but at first he somehow did not think about the sources of wealth. Apparently because he was in love with Volovich's daughter Lyusya.

Directed by Vyacheslav Nikiforov, Roadside leans on a strong ensemble — Anatoli Zhigar, Maya Bulgakova, Yevgeni Shutov — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1978.
