Lillepus

On a deserted farm far from civilization, an abused, mute, and severely disabled son lives with his mother, who is a mass murderer. When the son falls in love with a woman his mother has kidnapped, he must break free from his mother's clutches so that his love for the kidnapped woman can blossom.

Directed by Johan Egholm Nielsen, Lillepus leans on a strong ensemble — Alexander Krumhausen, Pernille Højmark, Clara Ellegaard — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2017.
