
A small Spanish town is shocked because they have found the bone of one of its local heroes: Don Nuño Pérez de Gormaz. The bone is a symbol of the history of the place, and therefore also of the history of Spain, so that all residents take to the streets to try to recover it.
Directed by Antonio Giménez-Rico, El hueso leans on a strong ensemble — Cassen, Charo López, José Franco — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1967.
