About The Child of the Tube
Two mad doctors buy Tamtakos' sperm to conduct various experiments. They create an infant who, within minutes, becomes a normal man. He is the spitting image of Tamtakos, but he also has the madness of the two doctors. He manages to escape from the hospital and goes on various adventures, making countless blunders and causing turmoil to a host of people. In the end, they find him and bring him back to the hospital, where he meets his biological father.
Directed by Pavlos Filippou, The Child of the Tube leans on a strong ensemble — Mihalis Mosios, Markos Lezes, Thanasis Liamis — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1982.
