About Our Shattered Dreams
Takis, a flower shop employee who dreams of becoming a singer, meets Jenny, a famous folk singer, who falls in love with him. Jenny helps Takis to move forward and pursue a career in folk music. Their love is destroyed by the whims of a malicious rich woman, who introduces herself to Jenny as Takis' wife. Jenny is shaken and retreats to a convent, while Takis, following these developments, loses his job and turns to drink. A mutual friend will help the troubled couple reconnect and find happiness.
Directed by Kostas Doukas, Our Shattered Dreams leans on a strong ensemble — Tolis Voskopoulos, Doukissa, Mari Pantazi — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1967.
