Zeki has come to Istanbul to work. His first priority is to find a job and bring his mother to live with him. Zeki gets a job at Mümtaz Bey's factory. While working at the factory, he sings songs. Mümtaz Bey is also a music lover. He really likes Zeki's voice and invites him to his house. At the music gathering at the house, Mümtaz's niece Yeşim is also very impressed by Zeki. Zeki's and Yeşim's lives will begin to take a different path.
Directed by Nejat Saydam, Hayat Bazen Tatlıdır leans on a strong ensemble — Zeki Müren, Belgin Doruk, Sadri Alışık — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1962.
